In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Suffield, this year’s Awards theme was selected as ‘Salute to Business’. For centuries, historians, teachers, political leaders and others have used military leadership as an example of what leaders can accomplish. Character, discipline and courage define this type of leadership and these same traits hold true for business. You need character and courage to take the risks in business to succeed and you need firm discipline to stay focused and on firm ground as you weather the ebb and flow of changing economies. Character sets you apart, discipline helps prepare for and predict what may be around the corner, but courage is what helps you handle the battles and challenges that put business in a class by itself.
Along with the awards ceremony, attendees were treated to on-stage entertainment from the Medicine Hat Jazz Orchestra and were kept entertained throughout the night by this year’s awards host, Trevor Moore.
The event was sponsored by various businesses and organizations including TD Bank (Banquet Sponsor), The Compass Business Centre (Ceremony Sponsor), StringTECH (Entertainment Sponsor), Brightan Financial Strategies Inc. (Chamber Partner Sponsor), MNP LLP, Business Development Bank of  Canada, and Air Canada (Platinum Sponsors), JMH & Co. Chartered Accountants (Twitter Screen Sponsor), Brost Development Inc and CIBC (Gold Sponsors) and CFB Suffield, DRDC and BATUS (In-Kind Partner). The awards presented were sponsored by Servus Credit Union, ProComm Technology Solutions, CORE Association, TELUS, HSBC, RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities, APEX, South Country Co-op, Jim Pattison Broadcast Group, CIBC Wood Gundy, ATB Financial, Medicine Hat Accommodation Association, Better Business Bureau, and the Medicine Hat College.
